ToneFXs
FINALLY, an app that allows change of UI sounds, and it even allows you to shuffle your alerts and ringtones! How cool!!
I was all excited to install it from Cydia... then I got this, over and over...
subprocess post-installation script
returned error exit status 1
Then you get a "Half-installed Package" warning.
BTW, its another un-disclosed trial version (5 days) $8 donation required... dammit.
I MIGHT pay for it, if it would actually install properly.Last edited by TheOnlyest; 08-29-2008 at 03:50 PM.

Installed fine for me and works great. I even downloaded the ToneFX creator and added a Tone to the phone. That worked too. It plays the tone I selected even with Intelliscreen installed and Intellalerts on.
I'll definately pay for this one!

I got it to install, but I'm taking a stand... if it doesn't say "Trial", it shouldn't be one. And paying for it shouldn't be called "Donating". "Donation" means optional.
Yeah, the idea is neat, but not telling you before you download that it's a time-limited demo and trying to pass it off as "donationware" when it's commercialware isn't. I uninstalled it, not going to buy it.Last edited by Synthezoid; 08-29-2008 at 04:49 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Yeah, I checked it out also. Don't care that its a pay app, but it should mention it before its installed. Nothing you can't do manually with SSH, just more convenient.

running the newest firmware helps ppl..., running 2.0.2 quickpwned app works perfect just like every other app i have ever tried. i can only assume if there is still an issue after having 2.0.2 it must be conflicting with some other app you have installed. anyways im debating on this one..., very useful app.

Everything on this app can be done through ssh. Except switching tones, i wonder how that can be done manually??

Where do the uploaded sounds go? I can't find them in the main app file for ToneFX. Is the sound file elsewhere?

yes, I was very disappointed when I saw how he brought donation in as a way to purchase the app.
I just checked out the donation part on his site, if you scroll to the bottom to "dude, am broke" you can get away with donating $2.99. Which isn't too bad, I guess.wwjd

downloaded it, "donated" $2.99 (£1.50) for it, and it has worked right off, no troubles whatsoever.
it's the same as ssh, but so much more convenient.
the tonefx creator for mac/pc on the otherhand blows. just doesnt work. converting to .aiff in itunes then changing to caf and ssh'ing to the tonefx folder in var/mobile then lets you use those sounds in tonefx.
and yes, this is better than just replacing the sounds via ssh in the first place, as you can chop and change them when you want! The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

It is worth the money. I dont see why people complain when someone writes something usefull and wants to sell it. Am i the only working adult on these forums that is willing to pay for services rendered?
Great app, it is a time saver for sure as i toggle day time Mail notifications and evening ones.

Do you get any tones that come with it when u install it or do you still have to find them yourself?
