    Default Instant Messenger
I am wondering if there is anyone out there with enough skills to develop an Instant Messenger application for the iPhone.. If so please let me know I am willing to pay an hourly or project base wage to have this developed.

    BitchX already does that.

And there are a half dozen apps that do it via the web.

BSflite is kewl, but it would be nice to not have to mess with all that, now a nice gui for bsflite would be even nicer...and web apps suck, nobody wants web apps......and most of the web based aim clients constantly log you out.

only issue is with that it seems that the IM's don't go to that if your logged into another location.

Are you sure? The way AIM handles multiple connections is that if you are logged in at two spots (home+iphone) and one of them is idle/away (home), only your iphone should receive the message. If both are away, then both computers receive the message. So just be sure to put up an away message before you leave.

I'd like to see an instant message app directly on the iphone mostly because none of the web apps have any notification settings, so I never know if I have a response unless I'm staring at the screen waiting..not really that effective.
