Default Custom icons for 1.1.3 Home Screen Bookmarks (WebClips)

In case you're not happy with icons that the iPhone creates for your Webclips (website links on Springboard), you can change them if you have a Jailbroken phone running 1.1.3! Webclips are kept in:

    /private/var/root/Library/WebClips/

Use SSH/SFTP to access that path and you'll find some folders in there named [some_long_hex_string].webclip, assuming that you have created some webclips already. Inside are the generated icon and a .plist file that contains the webclip title and address. To change the icon, just overwrite icon.png with whatever you want (as long as it's 57x57).

You can even create your own webclips on your Mac (or PC) by making a folder called [your_web_clip].webclip, adding an icon and a modified copy of the info.plist, and uploading it to the WebClips folder. You can name the folder whatever you want, it will work even if it's not named with the long hex string that Apple uses.

I'm surprised that I couldn't find any previous posts about this, but then again the 1.1.3 Jailbreak is only 2 days old. My apologies if this is a repeat.

I was having trouble locating my WebClips folder. I finally located it in /private/var/mobile/Library/WebClips. Hope this helps anyone having the same problem I was.
