after installing and off EDGE, my signal is gone and iphone keeps prompting that an approved SIM must be used.
It killed my signal and i think i have to do a restore and unlock the whole iphone again

hmmm, not nice! I never switch my EDGE off, so I don't know about that (and now I'm not going to try either).
Maybe see if BigBoss can help with this before going through the whole restore thingie.

Post your software version and phone status with carrier and unlocking method used and people will be able to offer more accurate advice.

its bricked.. checked the imei....0499 and no wifi ... crapped.

Try removing the SIM card and restarting the phone, then reinsert the SIM.
