    In new york:

    1) LocateMe: Got me within 10 feet (!)(!) in front of the United Nations Headquarters.
    2) Navizon: about 5 blocks off

    At home:
    1) LocateMe: about 1 or 2 miles off
    2) Navizon: about 40 miles off

I'm sold! I just hate the cache, but I love it otherwise.

P.S. You can see which towers in field test. I actually usually have at least 5-10 towers, and I've in a suburban area.

It's not really reading YOUR location, but mostly the location of the active towers near you. When i used this program...it located the same exact location as when i had upgraded my phone to 1.1.3.

So, just in case anyone's wondering, It pretty much works the same as Apple's program on 1.1.3, but slightly better in my opinion.

And for those of you that are wondering...no, i didn't downgrade my phone...I had to get a new one from apple because a charger that I had bought destroyed my battery life. So, i had wiped my old phone of all my 3rd party apps (Boo!), and upgraded and played with 1.1.3 until I took it to the apple store and got a new one with 1.1.2. The guy didn't even ask any questions...just replaced my phone. You guys aren't missing anything if you're curious about 1.1.3.

Can the pin be moved in order to get accurate directions when inputed to google maps?

Every time I use it it crashes the baseband. I'm also having the cache issues and doesn't want to refresh to the new location. Hope the developer improves it because it certainly has lots of potential.

LocateMe works better then Navizon GPS for me. When I tested LocateMe around Toronto it was a couple hundred feet off. Navizon is always a few miles off.

Funny, cause its the opposite for me. I've been testing both now for the last couple of days and Navizon keeps getting within 50-200m of my actual location whereas LocateMe keeps giving me the cached location (which is near my house and depending on where I am in Toronto, that would mean a few kms off). Anyone figured how to delete the cache?

    cheers,

When I tried Navizon on my 1.1.1 phone, it didn't work at ALL. Kept complaining that there were no known cell towers within range or something like that...and I'm in suburban Chicago so I can guarantee you there are cell towers. No matter where I was or how many times I tried it I got nothing.

So, if LocateMe works at all...

I completely forgot, though - Navizon said it needed the BSD subsystem installed first. I installed BSD LIGHT. Could that be why it didn't work? And does LocateMe require BSD be installed?

You should have BSD subsystem installed as there are quite a few 3rd party apps that require this to run properly.

but like others say, the cache thing hinders it from getting new locations.
i keep getting the same location even at my work (~6mi from my house)

Funny, cause its the opposite for me. Its more accurate and doesn't just show the cached location constantly like it used to.

I wish we could move the pin. Maybe in a future release.

Also, almost every time I use it, my service goes haywire for a minute and the first time I lock it after using it, it's spastic with a stuck animation at the unlock screen.

The pin part is part of Google Maps..... if you knew where you were, why would you need to use this anyway?

Once you find the general vicinity, type in your location in Google Maps if you need/know where you are.

Nice app, I tried it and it shows my location 0.2 miles off of my actual location, in Mexico City.

Is anyone else having a problem with the new update being off alot farther then it was with the previous version. It used to only be .8 miles off. Now its about 5 miles off.
