Tired of all those new-fangled graphics and dazzling eye candy on your shiny new iPhone?

Can't quite master the finicky multi-touch Nintendo controls in

Then take advantage of those crisp high-resolution fonts on your iPhone to relive the glory days of the Great Underground Empire, or play any of hundreds of great works from the Interactive Fiction archive.

Requires a jailbroken/sshd-enabled phone to install.

To install from binary distribution, download and extract the iphoneFrotz-X.Y.tar.gz file.

Copy the resulting directory to your iPhone.

Create a directory /var/root/Library/Frotz/Games on your iPhone and copy your Z-Machine game data files there.

A good starting point for exploring the wealth of Interactive Fiction is

This is great! I spent countless hours playing Zork III on my Apple //c as a kid!

I wonder if I'll be able to get past that damn time machine part this time....

I've got the games working but how do we get back to a saved game...nothing seems to get saved in /var/root/Media/Frotz/Saves directory under Frotz v0.3

When you play a game and your at a saving point just say "save game" and then name your save. Then when you want to get back to it go back to the game you were playing and press r before you start it and you should be able to type in your game save name. It worked for me.
