New Garf 0.32 (1.1.1/1.1.2/+ only)
The new Garf 0.32 is up on the repository.
I've gotten a number of emails from people using the old 1.0.2 firmware saying it crashes after the opening screen. I'm not sure what is causing this. (I'm also not sure why 1.0.2 is still being used...I suspect it's an unlock thing). If you are stuck with firmware 1.0.2, I recommend going to Garf's SourceForge site and downloading version 0.25. You can use SSH to copy the files in the folder over the current ones in the /Applications/Garf.app directory on your phone.
If you do this, you might want to make sure that both the Garf app folder and the executable inside have executable permission (e.g. permission 755).
If I knew what was causing the problem, perhaps I could fix it for later versions...if you are running 1.0.2, try running Garf from the terminal. From a terminal prompt, type the following:
$ cd /Applications/Garf.app
$ ./garf
...let me know the last couple of lines you see after it crashes.

Not sure...I didn't change anything sound related. Try exiting, fiddling with volume, and restarting.
Update: Your software volume is too low. Run iPod app, move slider to about 80%. Then you should be good.Last edited by JLA; 01-04-2008 at 11:19 PM.

this is what it said when ran from command line on 1.0.2:
dyld: Symbol not found: .objc_class_name_NSD
ecimalNumber
Referenced from: /Applications/Garf.app/./
garf
Expected in: /System/Library/Frameworks/Foundation.framework/Foundation
zsh: trace trap ./garf
# ./garf
did you have a beta 0.32 version i may have installed before? because i overwrote the garf file from the 1 i had backed up and the version says 0.32 but there is option for skins.

Yeah, 1.0.2 doesn't seem to have the NSDecimalNumber class. If you want the version number to be accurate, you can copy the Info.plist file as well.
Why are so many people still on 1.0.2? Unlocking reasons?

If I understand you, you are having problems with Installer, specifically the download of Garf?
If so, check your drive space by typing "df -h" in MobileTerminal. You want to look at the space in the first thing (i.e. the OS partition).
You can always try using MobileFinder and deleting the Garf.app directory, then try reinstalling...

I'm a little late, but can someone tell me why my garf doesn't look like this?
Mine is doesn't look as pretty as that one... It's flat, and the colors aren't that bright.
Okay.. I found out that you can have themes (duh).. But does anyone know where I can find the above theme?
Thanks.Last edited by sn0wballz; 03-05-2008 at 08:26 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
