You can use XLaunch to hide the visibility of any app.

THat's because they got quicktime running from within their own app, which is acting as an interface between quicktime and the web. So they can steal the link as it is passed to the player.

If you look carefully at the screenshot, Quicktime doesn't fill the whole screen, look at the top, there is a gap about the same height as the iPhone status bar.

Because the closest thing to "dodgy" in here so far is the word you just used. If the thread itself doesn't contain offending material, no reason why the app shouldn't be allowed to stay.

since upgrading to 3.0 i cant get videos to play on isteamy anyone with any ideas?

Its due to a change in the 3.0 firmware.
You have to update to the new version for it to work on 3.0
