How do I hide desktop icons?
While still having the app function - I'm using Installer.app and Launcher.app, and I don't need all these extra icons on my desktop if I can get to them from Launcher.
Any ideas?

edit your DisplayOrder.plist i believe.... information on this can be found in the Wiki... if that doesn't help, try opening the file in a true-text editor, wordpad is fine for Windows. oh, and make sure you back that file up! just in case anything goes wrong!

Yup, edit your DisplayOrder, and take the apps out of "button bar" and put them into "special".

Hmm not sure, I haven't played around with the desktop too much. I'd have to see where he's storing them.

Thanks everybody - got my desktop how I want it. Now the trick will be for someone to make an app to do this automatically, because I don't want to be editing files every time I add an app!
