If you've installed firefly media server on your phone you know how it works.

Go into itunes and your phone shows up. But what if you dont want to use itunes or just dont feel like launching another app?

I found this:

Just download the FirePlay.zip and put the files in:
/usr/local/share/mt-daapd/admin-root/

now navigate to:
http://your.iphone.ip.here:3689/FirePlay.html
on any browser and you have access to all your media.

Im using johntool to keep wifi always on but its not 100%, anyone have a better solution?

If someone can create a javascript/html or something other then flash version http://forums.fireflymediaserver.org...?p=17354#17354 then we'll be able to stream music amongst multiple iphones/touches accross a network!

I tired FireMediaServer, but couldn't get the damn thing to work...

Then I found Winamp Remote on one the threads on this forum. It works great... only downside is that Videos has to be in MP4 format and home internet upload speed also has to be pretty high... I couldn't get a high quality videos play on my iphone. Edge is also kinda slow too. Getting the videos to work is by WIFI and has to have the server side and iphone side should have good speeds.

Music works flawlessly... have GIGS of music on my iPhone now. Works great on Edge, no need for WIFI. Now I can enjoy tons of music when driving around... no need to sync anything.

THIS IS THE EASIEST METHOD TO HAVE YOUR OWN SERVER USING THE WINAMP REMOTE!!!

shaddy510 - I think you have it backwards, what I posted above was for playing music From your iphone or touch on your pc/mac

Just found this great app called Insomnia! Hopefully this is what your looking for.
