    if you have Cydia installed then the password change function is already fixed and you can do it the normal way.

    hmm interesting fix I'd like to try and but what part of the phone rebooting every 5 seconds and no ssh / ziphone / itunes access makes you think I can install some app called cydia.

    I think I'm just going to let it battery drain. Seems there really isn't anything I can do now. Sorry to be snappy, just been trying to f--k with it for a few hours now.

    ok holding power down and home button finally got it to a restore state. Afrer I jb it again I'll use Cydia this time.

    install cydia and login with ssh, use the passwd command to change your password. The passwd program from cydia works correctly and should fix your problem.
