Hey guys im kinda having the famous white screen with no roms problem that a lot of people seem to be having.

mbaturin - thank you for the step by step ...very comprehensive. I tried your method with winscp instead of putty, but when I try to flip the -x bit on any folder or file it looks like its not retaining it ...did I mess something up along the way that is not giving me permissions to flip that bit on the folders...I think if anyone can trouble shoot that, it will resolve the white screen no roms problem.

get into your phone using jailbreak and iPhoneInterface, then activate ssh using the SSHKit, then us WinCap to SSH into your phone, navigate to your NES.app, right click on it go to properties, in teh "Oct" box type in 0777, click OK. do this for all files in your NES.app package as well, this should fix your white screen prob, at least it did for me..

do not waste your time w/ .22

the controller image in portrait shows up all these diff colors

had to go back to .21

and i still cannot get sound to work

yeah i have both the app and rom folders with the -x bit flipped ...when I change it to the 0777 it doesnt seem to retain it when i go back to check it ????? did I miss some step with the host key ...can I get this far and have missed a step in this crazy long process...its would be clutch if someone wrote a batch file for the entire procedure...im a graphics guy so this is way beyond my scope...any help would be much appreciated and praised

I can ssh into my iphone and drag folders into it with iphonebrowser...so I know im close to the promiseland...just wanna see some freakin roms

i followed the write up on page 2 of this thread and it worked w/o hiccup

except i use manzana to drag/drop

NES Nervegas is the compiled version (what you want), nesapp is just code...

I followed steps for installing ssh on my phone. Ssh is now on my phone and i downloaded WinSCP and tried putting in my iphone ip address and the correct username and pass, but when i complete and press login it says, "searching for host" and after a moment an error message appears and says, "connection timed out" im stuck and really need help thanks to anyone.

wired , you need to install sftp-server into /usr/libexec/ and chmod +x /usr/libexec/* then restart the phone.

the sftp-server bin is in the binkit under libexec.

Landscape

8. Now I would rename the NES.app folder to Nintendo.app to it says Nintendo under the icon not NES but its up to you.

9. Click and drag this entire folder over the Applications folder and release (Hence putting it in the Applications Folder)

10. Now go into the Applications folder where your NES.app (or Nintendo.app) will be and right click on the folder. You will see numbers likw 0644 or 0755. Change this to 0777. Hit OK and go into that folder now.

11. Repeat step 10 for all the files in this folder.

12. Now download manzana from here:

13. Now download this file and put it in the manzana folder:

14. Run Manzana.exe or whatever the executable is in that folder.

15. A browser of your phone will show up.

16. Navigate to var > root > Media

17. Create a folder in the Media folder (By right clicking and add folder) and call it ROMs

18. Now in that folder create a folder called NES

19. Now search the internet for NES roms, (.nes extension). Now download whichever you want.

20. After you have these ROMS go back to the program from step 3 (WinSCP). You should see the ROMs folder in var/root/Media/ and the NES folder in the ROMs folder. Drag your roms into the NES folder (roms which you downloaded from the web in step 19).

21. Repeat what you did for step 10 for all the ROMS once they have been dragged into the NES folder (found at var/root/Media/ROMs). You are setting their permissions for read write and execute for the iphone.

NOTE: I realize there are faster ways to do this but this is how I did it and it worked so just follow the steps and you should have the NES on your phone. Let me know if this helps!

hi i have a quick question. i am using the build 21. can i choose between landscape and portrait mode? if so how. right now i can only get the games in regular portrait mode.

i finally got this and terminal running on my phone. Has anyone got the sound to work. I would like to enable sound through mobile terminal. If anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.

I have asked about getting sound to work, as well as a zillion other people....can one of you enlightened souls that knows how to do this please give us a quick step by step? Take a couple seconds out of your busy day for us?

Also, anybody find a version of Galaga that works? It's my all time favorite arcade game, and all the roms i've tried are cut off at the bottom, can't see my ship.

did you try turning the phone? it changes automatically haha

ok...is it normal when you start a game..play it...then press rom list...then it juss shows the rom list for a quick sec then returns to home screen by its self?

you need to upgrade your version of nesapp

check the readme..it says what version fixed the crash

from old readme...
