We just released a new version of Navizon GPS called Navizon Lite. This version is totally free and will let users get their position using the surrounding cell towers.
This new service is similar to the one that Google launched last weeks with its "My location" feature (approximately 1000 meters accuracy) only that it works on the iPhone.

For users who need a more professional accuracy, they can upgrade to the full version (free to try, $24.99 one-time fee to buy) that combines WiFi and Cellular positioning, offering an accuracy of approximately 10 to 30 meters in an urban setting.
Both versions will let you get your directions to your next destination and see where your friends are located on a map with the Buddy Finder.

How does navizon work? I had it before but it keeps saying your location can not be found. No wireless or telephone bla bla bla...

So what can I do?

someone posted a comment on that blog that says to just download the regular navizon and when the trial expires, it automatically turns into navizon lite.

Still sucks...I'm in West LA and it placed me more than 5 miles away from my actual location.

Navizon was ok but Lite is crap.

I live in downtown Minneapolis and it placed me 4 miles away IN Lake Calhoun.

i got two blocks west of my house when i used navizon originally, and now with lite i am still two blocks west, glad to have this again, glad i didnt pay and i got it for free the way it was meant to be :-)

Great App. Glad its free now. Tried it and it placed me only a few blocks East of my house. Not too shabby.

I just don't get it. Why would I want to know where I'm at, Kind of? I already know where I'm kind of at. The only reason I could see this being remotely useful is if I was blind folded and and then taken somewhere that was completely foreign to me. If this told me exactly where I was at, then it would be a different story.

lol Dude it's not about knowing where you are so to speak. It's about knowing where you are in reference to where you want to go... so now you can type in any location and it will tell you how to get there, instead of trying to find an address to where you are THEN typing in the address of the location. With GPS even if you're on the road or highway and you cannot find an address for your location, you can still get directions because you know longer need to know your address... the phone will know already.

When I had it before, it was doing the same thing for me. When I saw that it was free now, I downloaded it again, and now, it finds me. Have you tried it again?

It is about 1 block off for me. It places me on the next street over lol.
