I finally got Swirley to work. I had to go to att and but my SIM card into my old phone. then have ATT activate my old phoneand turn off my iPhone plan. Once that was accomplished I changed the iPones IMEI number to match my newley activated phone. The rer at ATT said that the networks see the IMEI number as an iPhone and when you put the SIM back in turns off MMS. So now that the IMEI numbers match when I fired up Swirley it work even sent a MMS to my iPhone to make sure. Now it sends and receives.
I used Ziphone to change the IMEI number. Hope this helps.

this is interesting, id like to know if anyone else had success with this. Also i had a few questions.
-did you use a new sim card?
-im not sure i understand what you mean by activate your old phone if your sim card is not new.
-so you got off the iphone plan, so you had to buy the unlimited internet/phone/messaging all seperate?ARTHURSDOMAIN

No I took the SIM card out of my iPhone and put it into my old phone. Then had ATT change my plan from to have mms and not have the iPhone plan it cost and extra $10. By doing this I lost visual voicemail. To me that was a small price. I then changed my IMEI number to match that of the phone I took the SIM card out of. ATT said they can tell what type phone is on the network by it's IMEI because each plan is registered to that IMEI number. I can now send pictures and receive picture. In order to view them U will need mobile finder & mobile preiview installed.

I can confirm by conversations, that AT&T does block MMS based upon IMEI numbers; so pinkham21's approach is the only one I know of that will work right now with AT&T (changing your IMEI number; eliminating the iPhone data plan and by extension visual voicemail).
Making the appropriate plan changes; providing AT&T with the IMEI number of another non-iphone will not work if you try to send and receive from an iPhone with its original iPhone IMEI number.

If you have another line on your plan, can you just take your SIM card out of your iphone and insert another SIM that isnt associated with an iPhone?
