The new version 0.5 is excellent and a far cry from the unfriendly GUI of the earlier versions! Appreciate your efforts.

I don't know if Amrut Joshi is reading this, but is there a way you can also enable SMS Delivery Receipt in this? It would be great and is probably the only feature missing from a "normal" SMS app.

Just to be picky, I sometimes find it a challenge to press the + sign. It doesn't seem to pick up the keypress. Could you fix that please? Version 0.5. Thank you

Just updated to v0.05 but as i press the "+" sign to add multiple recipients it crashes out to the home screen.

Anybody else facing any such issues(i am on firmware 1.0.2)

PS:in the installer it shows version .05 installed where as when i press about in the application it shows v.04?

Same here. I'm on FW 1.0.2 and using SMSD v0.05. I tried to drag and drop V0.06 with iPhoneBrowser but it didn't work. When I launch the app I get a blank screen.

FWIW...the release notes do mention crashing in FW 1.0.2 and the fix is in v0.06.

Fix for 1.0.2 firmware where tapping on '+' used to crash the app.
SMS send should be fasted now
Long SMS will be split into multiple messages.


To install:

Put the extracted zip dir (SMSD.app) in /Applications on iPhone.

Or

Install it using installer.app.

I don't know if it is possible but can a feature be built in so that it looks like the original sms program from apple I just love the way how it is set out with the history it makes it so much easier when replying to people..

Also can something be added were you can select text from a message? When people send me phone numbers I have to write them down on paper to call them total pain when you are out of the office...

Other than that you have done some fantastic work here

And to answer your question about the Copy and Paste thing, that is something that might be implemented in the new soft update on the iPhone in Feb 08 or maybe one of use comes out with a new app
The phone no that u receive from your friends, in the regular SMS app. it will allow you to add it to a new or existing contact by pressing the blue arrow

Receiver gets 2 sms instead of 1!!
When sending sms with +/- 120 characters the reciever get 1 sms with all
the text and a second one with the last 2 characters!!

Hi Amrut - This program was sorely needed - would love it if you could implement another feature -

When you forward an SMS - the name and/or number of the original sender should automatically get added to the msg - at the end - with a brief text such as - original msg from xxxx

This would really help and if people have issues with privacy then it can be toggled off and on via a settings switch or something.

Let me know if this makes sense to you and if it is implementable. Ill donate for this if need be.

If possible - ability to send business cards - even if this is rudimentary like only a name and a number and not an actual vcard it would be of great help

Yeah i am facing the same issues, using 0.06 on firmware 1.0.2.

Also i am unable to forward messages to ppl frm the contact list.It shows send but ppl r not receiving it!, but when i enter the number manually it works like a charm.Please have a look into it!!
