For the life of me I can't get FB or MF to let me rename anything. I've chmod'd. No dice. 1.1.4. Anyone?
I'm so glad I don't have to meet The Internet People.

I was having lots of issues of FileBrowser working sometimes and sometimes not, while MobileFinder never worked for me on 1.1.4.
I restored two days ago and installed FileBrowser and everything works great. Maybe some apps modify ownerships and permissions and that plays against filebrowser.

How do you play mp3s through this app. I click double click whatever to my mp3 files and it nothing happens.

install the Safari file : / / you'll find in installer.app
Then go to FileBrowser's settings and turn on the file:/ option.
If that still won't work, install avplayer.app. Then FileBrowser will open your mp3s with avplayer.
Or you could just use MyMedia instead to play mp3s, lolz.

You have to touch 'Edit', then choose the file(s) you want to copy. They will get highlighted. Then touch 'Copy'. You'll get a numbered badge above the Edit button. Just go to the folder you wish to copy the files to, then touch 'Edit' and then 'Paste'.
I think there's also some kind of permission or ownership issue. I had problems copying as well before. But now that I restored to a 'clean' iPhone and re-installed all my apps, everything in FileBrowser is working without issue, including the copy/paste function.

There's a new version i.e. v1.8 out. Now you can even zip files, not just open them!

i see he added ftp server support. But how in the world do you set it up. i don't see where you can enter the ftp site yuo want to connect to.

FTP server support is in v2.0. It's not out yet!
But if you have that version (which is very unlikely), Stephan Bayer's website says just tap "Create->FTP Connection" to set it up.Last edited by beatoven; 07-05-2008 at 02:54 AM.

I'm having a problem uploading large .pdf files (5MB+) with the browser interface. Anyone had any luck fixing this?

SheepNutz: try not to use it as an alternative to SSH on an FTP app. With me, the app crashed on my iPhone when I tried uploading a big 5MB+ file.
gaz: Did you install the safari patch from Installer? And then move the "use file : / /" to ON in FileBrowser? The safai patch is called "1.1.3/4 Safari Patch" and is found in the Tweaks 1.1.4 section (BigBoss' repo which is already included in Community Sources).
