Didnt you get the uctl(or w/e) message? You need to download that...

Once you installed it, you need to restart the phone or else the server will not start of its own accord. Or, you could start it from within UIctl.

Which source did you get it from? If you got it from ConceitedSoftware or Ste, you should uninstall it and get it from home.mike.tl/iphone (add the source in Installer.app the manual way).

Nope, I got it from Mike. It works on my home computer, but not on the one in my office. It's not some corporate thing where the IT guy set up barriers or anything fancy like that, so there's nothing stopping me from installing or running anything. But at home it finds my iphone as shared, but not at work.

Punkassjim - still working on this one.
I'm not sure iToggle as it is will ever work since it doesn't address the launchd issues (or lack there of). I've been pulling apart the original Services app source files to understand how it works but I'm more of a code hacker than programmer so I'm lost more often than not (can't find iToggle source - yelp if ya got it). If I could just figure out how to make a simple app with on / off switches that are assignable to 2 different launchctl commands, we would be set (at least for add-on sharing services).
I'll let you know what I've compiled when.
Greg
Actually what we REALLY need is an app that'll allow user to assign shell scripts to on & off settings of switches via a similar way that iToggle allows us to assign a single process. That way we can we're not locked to any one method (both Services & iToggle have different methods of activating & deactivating EDGE for instance).
Anyone with some knowledge in the UIKit Development out there?
Show me how to make just one functioning switch and I'm off and running.

Hey guys
i got a solution for getting your music from itunes to your iphone
its not a native app by any means
and i understand that its for the PSP but it will work for the iphone just the same.
1. download the exe from here http://www.skattertech.com/media/200...PSP-Server.exe
its the server you need to run on your computer
2.keep port 8080 open on your computer
3. launch iTunes and then launch the iTunes-PSP-Server.exe after iTunes is up and running
4. in your IE/Firefox browser open http://localhost:8080/ and if you get an RSS server page than it is working
5. find the ip address for the computer running the server
6. make sure you have the MobileCast app from installer
7. in IE/Firefox open http://localhost:8080/ and you should see a list of playlists from your library
8. place your cursor over the RSS icon on the playlist that you want to get from your iphone and look in the bottom left corner of the IE/Firefox screen.
9. there should be a url that looks something like "http://localhost:8080/rss/AF83C53CD5A1B0B3" that is the direct link to your music. write it down.
10. change the text "localhost" to the ip address of your computer and add that to your feeds in MobileCast. The URL is case sensitive.
11. and there you have it! just download the songs you want to listen to and you can play them or delete them whenever!
hope you like it
worked for me and any questions are welcome

Iman07,
all this is is a simple RSS server
so if you can find an RSS server for mac that will use your itunes library it should work just the same as this one.
ill do some more research.
Brandon
Heres a completely updated version that works for both windows and mac
but make sure that you have Java Runtime 1.5 or higher
WINDOWS
1) Download http://www.skattertech.com/media/200...sRSSwin2.1.zip to your desktop. Unzip (extract) all contents into a new folder. Open it folder, but do not modify its contents.
2) Press on the on the MyTunesRSS Icon and wait until it starts up.
3) Under General -> iTunes browse to the location of your “iTunes Music Library.xml”. (Usually located in My Documents -> My Music -> iTunes.)
4) Choose a port number such as “1234″ and enter any password.
5) Under Options -> Automation, check Auto Update Database (10 mins).
6) Open any standard browser (IE/Safari/Firefox) and enter either http://localhost:[port number] (ex: http://localhost:1234) or the URL displayed on the General Tab. A MyTunesRSS page should appear shortly.
MAC
1) Download http://www.skattertech.com/media/200...sRSSmac2.1.zip Extract all contents into a new folder.
2) Open the folder, press on MyTunesRSS, and wait for it to start up.
3) Under General -> iTunes browse to the location of your “iTunes Music Library.xml”. (This is normally located in Music -> iTunes)
After you are in to MyTunes, do the same steps as in the other post to find your RSS address and add it to MobileCast on your iphone. It may be a little different because this is an updated version of the program so the URLs for your RSS may not be as simple to find.
Let me know if you have any success on Mac!
