Search - Want to search contacts, or go to a particular date in Calendar?
Search is a native app which adds two of the most requested features to the iPhone.
1. It allows you to search your contacts, and call them.
2. It allows you to dial up a date, and go straight to it in the calendar app.
This software is still beta, and has only been tested on 1.1.1 though it should work fine on 1.0.2 (we haven't specifically tested it on 1.0.2)
Download is available from here:

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I'd post screen shots now, but i don't think my contacts would appreciate their names and numbers all over the internet. ;-) I'll setup some "demo" contacts when I get a chance and post some shots.

Installed it on 1.0.2. Didn't work. Any ideas?

I've had reports that it works fine on 1.0.2
Double check that the permissions are correct (specifically the execute bit is set)?

This is a fantastic start! Two requests for improvement:
1) When the contact detail is selected, it only displays phone numbers, and not the other info like email addresses. It would be better to show the full info.
2) Searching the calendar by event title would be an awesome addition.

More detailed contact information is planned. However searching to call was the priority. (thought i'd release it at this stage, as a lot of people I know were desperate for this feature)
I'll look into the searching actual calendar events too.
Thanks for the feedback
Just out of interest, anyone know how to make this app available through Installer.app?Last edited by lduncan; 10-24-2007 at 02:05 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Russian language (cyrillic unicode) contacts are not searched and displayed right.

Checked the permissions. They are set correctly....

The unicode issues are known bugs, will have them sorted out soon.
Also, if anyone knows how to get this listed in Installer.app it would be great. Makes things easier for distributing updates etc.
