WIFI SMS Launched! Awesome App!

This app launched today in the BigBoss repo... previously called treasonSMS a couple years ago. Allows you to use your web browser to send/receive text messages. Pretty amazing. One word of advice.. you will need to use Insomnia to keep your WIFI connection running so you don't lose the connection when your display goes to sleep.
After you install WIFISMS use SB Settings to toggle WIFI SMS to "ON".
Open Safari or Chrome and go to http://(your iphone's IP address):8080 Example: http://192.168.0.13:8080Last edited by Poseidon79; 08-02-2011 at 08:53 PM.

really excited about this app. However is there any way to get this to work from outside your wifi network? i.e. phone at home and connect from my works internet? Can I just forward a port on my router, or maybe use something like dyndns.com?!?! This app would be killer if you could.

The only 2 supported browsers are Chrome and Safari so I wouldn't expect it to work in IE or Opera. Please confirm you followed the directions and activated it in SBSettings and your WIFI connection didn't disconnect. If so you may want to seek support from the developer via twitter @treason

I'm trying this at work, are there any potential security issues with this? Is this information out in the open for anyone? Either way, amazing app, thanks for the hard work!

same here
I have 3Gs, 4.3.3, jailbroken with pawnage tool.
Using Windows XP, latest chrome.
What I'm seeing is that it is stuck with a blank screen that says "loading" and at the buttom Chrome is saying "waiting for www.paypalobjects.com ..."
I pinged to that website, so nothing is blocking it.
I also disabled my PC's firewall.
Also tried accessing from a Chrome "incognito" window (so no addons would interfere).
nothing helped.
After a while my phone involuntarily restarted.
Is this being investigated ?
