PkgBackup Crashes on Startup

I just bought PkgBackup 4.2.7 and installed it on my 3Gs (running 4.1). However, it crashes on startup. Any ideas on why this is happening and how I can stop it?

Try deleting and reinstalling you probably got a bad extension on download

That didn't work. I trided contacting the author, but he hasn't gotten back to me. Can you get refunds on Cydia apps?

I purchased pkgbackup today and I'm having the same problem. Have deleted app and reinstalled, rebooted device with no luck. I would really like to get this app working as I need to do a restore. Can someone please offer some help or maybe tell me the best way of contacting the developer? When I use the author link within the app page on cydia, email opens but author's address isn't provided. I don't use twitter so is Facebook the only option?

Count me in on this problem. Same symptoms...3GS running 4.0. pkgbackup 4.2.7 instantly crashes back to SB. Tried uninstalling and re-installing but no luck.
Sent email to author but no reply.

Has anyone had a reply from the developer? I had to reinstall iTunes and I'm going to lose much loved data if I can't get a backup before iTunes wipes my drive. Help! I'm getting desperate so will be sooo grateful for any help. Please, please rescue me. Thanks

Pkgbackup author sent me the 4.0.5c .deb file and it ran great.
He said to try the latest rev once I update to 4.2.1 which I haven't done yet.

Same problem, but it used to work for me. Along with the question of why doesn't the developer update the app in cydia, I'd also like to ask: since the developer has helped so many people with the same problem, why doesn't he post possible solutions to this thread?

I had similar problem with PkgBackup, I emailed the dev thru Cydia --> Pkgbackup --> Contact devs.
He replied 2 hours later with a fix. my problem was on my side.

I purchased PKGBackup today in hopes of upgrading from iOS 4.1 to 5.1.1, the app version I have is 5.2
I am having the same issue, the app is not launching and resetting back to springboard. I tried reinstalling the app and rebooting the device. I emailed you from Cydia but figured I would write here also. Please kindly see if there is anything about my setup that is causing this, I would greatly appreciate your help.
