It is a waste of time he no longer gives them out via email:
Alpha Tester
Alpha testers run Customize 2.0 on their iPhones and iPod Touches trying their very hardest to make Customize crash. It's a dirty job, and most certainly you will mix up files on your phone ;-). Access to your phone via ssh is a must! I will no longer give out alpha tester invitation codes by email. Bug your friends, there are hundreds of invitation codes currently available!

You have to read this bit:

If you get a invitation code from someone who has already signed up than you can install Custiomize 2.016GB iPhone 3G
