    Sad news...
    Apple has announced that if you update your iPhone in the future and you have native apps or have unlocked it, it will brick your phone.
    It is kind of rediculous that we can spend upwards of 600 dollars on a cell phone and not get to play with it.

    I am sure this has been posted already several times, but it never hurts to make sure everyone is getting the message.

    actually, apple only claims that unlocking and updating wont play nice together, and could damage the software. jailbreaking should not conflict.

    Veocon,

    I have heard both sides of the stories...
    I am fortunate enough to have a girlfriend that works at Apple, and She said that they aren't telling everyone exactly what the updates will do.

    I would still be careful about that.

    they said theres a good chance the update will render unlocked phones useless, but nobody said anything about native apps. They simply stated that if their updates happen to knock them out then so be it, but it won't render the phone useless.
