    Default iPhone won't Reboot

I had already added all the things I wanted on my Jailbroken iPhone 3G (3.1.2) and used it casually and normally for 8 days. Last night, I accidentally turned off "Edge" usage and had to wait about 10 minutes to get it back on. When it came back on, it showed "Edge" as "On" so I assumed it fixed itself. Today I was tethering and it lost service, but upon loosing, it tried to restart, but it just kept doing the process over and over again for about 20 minutes. So I held Power and Home Button and it turned off. I held power for a bit and it started to reboot, but it's stuck rebooting. What do I do to get it to work again?

    Please and thanks in advance.

Thank you! It's restoring right now. By the way, will backing up an iPhone also back up all settings, preferences, apps downloaded, and other things set abnormally from Cydia and such?
