Welcome to MMi,
If it's an app that you downloaded to your desktop I feel pretty sure your talking about warez or pirated apps.
I should explain to you that discussion help or links to warez are not supported here.
Most all apps are from either the AppStore or Cydia and can be downloaded easily from there.
If these are not warez explain what app and I will do my best to help.

How to install an app
Go to the app store either in iTunes or on your phone.
Browse to whatever app you want
and download it
it'll install by itself.
Warez is wrrronnnngggg.I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

You are wrong, you are welcome here and it has absolutely nothing to do with your user name. Don't be so sensitive about it. Was only joking, besides helping people with problems we also enjoy having fun. Wasn't meant to be derogatory at all. If you took it that way I sincerely apologize.
Stating that you were trying to install apps from your desktop only led us to believe that these were cracked apps. Had you explained your problem a little better more help and advice would have been given. Apps from the AppStore are not downloaded to the desktop but rather to iTunes.
Enjoy
