ftp apps question

Im just wondering since I have openssh installed on my iphone, does that mean that i have this ftp client always running as long as i have it installed? does that slow down my iphone? should I uninstall such apps when im not using them?

it's not an ftp client, it's an ssh server, that runs as a daemon... doing nothing until it's required.

it does not slow down the phone! but it can marginally use some of your battery power.
