spot (spotify) not working

hey all i can't get the new iphone spotify app (aka spot) working.. i get to the login screen and i enter my username and password but the app just closes..?

I'm not having any problems getting passed that screen, but then again I'm Canadian and my free UK account won't let me listen to music, unlike on my computer which thinks it's a premium account and works.
