Unfortunately, I don't have access to an officially activated iPhone/iPod touch.

Waiting for an at&t SIM bought from eBay.

I think you don't need a legit iPhone or iPod touch.
Well I made it with just my jailbroken iPhone 2G.

    Give it a try!

It's in cydia already. Add cydia.iphoneil.net to your cydia sources and install push fix. reboot, reinstall any push apps, push should now work.

Some very odd things have been occurring on my 3G since installing PushFix from Cydia:
    1) Email passwords are constantly being erased
    2) Gmail email account stopped working completely "Connection to the server 'imap.gmail.com' failed"
    3) I can't turn on the Passcode Lock feature!

PushFix worked the day I installed after rebooting and re-installing Push-using apps, but it hasn't worked since then. I've rebooted my iPhone at least twice since then. I'm using eBuddy and AP Mobile to test Push.

Did the same to me, and I think its having a detremental effext on my battery life as it went flat overnight after a full charge.

I am going to uninstall it as its annoying me. ......... if anyone hears of a fix for this or these problems let us all know.

Default iphone 2g problem with Push Fix
Im currently on an iphone 2g 8gig, 3.0 with very few jailbroken apps installed. (to be close to exact, i have sms notify, winterboard, boss prefs well, the newer one) ) and i think that's it. i just upgraded to 3.0 last week with no problems whatsoever until:

i downloaded Push Fix from cydia by putting in the source. it downloaded fine and asked to reboot and when i did, i got the jailbroken pineapple logo as if the phone was starting up and then a black screen.

it randomly restarts itself again with the logo and then the blank screen. it never actually turns off, just appears to sleep and then restart at a random time.

i've tried to hard reset multiple times with no luck. when i hook it up to my imac, it recognizes the photos stored in iphoto and at first would come up in itunes showing all my songs, etc.

i tried to upgrade to 3.01 to no avail.

    any help?

Default Iphone 2g firmware 3.1.2, push notification fix
    Hey Guys,

Did anyone test this out on the iPhone 2g 3.1.2 firmware? I tried it on the 3.1 firmware but it did not work. I updated my firmware to 3.1.2 thinking that it would solve the problem but it did not. If someone has managed to make this work on the 3.1.2 firmware can you please help me?

    Thanks,

    esc247

P.s. I also tried the Cydia thing and reinstalled the push apps everytime!

    Okay mine works.

    I used BlackRa1n RC3 (in downloads section)

I then followed these instructions (did it before I even synced with iTunes) and did a soft reboot.

    You Tube said 'Cannot Connect'.
I reconnected to my wifi network and tried again.

    Voila!!
    It works!

ok this is a super weird problem iv been facing continuously...iv verified that it occurs everytime..
my push notifications don't work..UNLESS...im talking to sum1..nt jus ringing a bell...bt on an active call...then the push notifications are instantaneous..
if i'm not on a call..then all these notifications get stacked up till i call next or receive a call next...
n its not only im+....bt facebook, mbox mail or any other app...
    dazed and confused... :-S
