Thread: Dismiss call forwarding message

  1. #1
    Default Dismiss call forwarding message
    Does anyone know how to get rid of the annoying "Dismiss call forwarding " message every time you use the dialler on firmware 1.1.4?

    Thx

    It should be the same as in 1.1.3. Edit the carrier.plist found in System/Library/Carrier Bundles/Unknown.bundle like this:

    <key>ShowCallForwarded</key>
    <false/>
    <key>ShowCallForwarding</key>
    <false/>

    from true to false and save, respring and try.

    thx iBlade but infortunately in firmware 1.1.4.those files look completely different...

    If I open them in vi they come out all garbled and I cannot edit them, I think they are binaries. I have tried editing the com.apple.carrier.plist file in Plist Edit Pro and with the built in mac osx editor and both complain that the file cannot be converted to a recognizable format.

    Any other suggestions? Do you think I could seriously mess up my phone if I replaced the carrier.plist file with the 113 version i.e. the readable text version of the file?

    I'm on 1.1.4, just drag the .plist file to your desktop and use this site
    http://140.124.181.188/~khchung/cgi-bin/plutil.cgi to convert the file to text, edit the file the way you want (I used wordpad) and just drag it back to the iPhone folder

    Yes TheHK is right use that site to convert your plist file. If you need further help send me the carrier.plist file, or easier post it here and we'll fix it.

    hey i have the same problem, just restored to 1.1.4. unlocked, jailbreak and the hole thing through ziphone, and i still get the "dismiss call forwarding" message. For newbies like i who know nothing about editting the carrier.plist , is there a code to dial as in some previous versions the ##002# used to work? thanks in advance!

    ok, I edited that .plist file after having it converted by that website, dragged it back into the iPhone, rebooted....but the dismiss message is still there....what to do?

    wouldn't one have to convert the edited file back to the Apple binary format before copying it back into the iPhone?
