    Default change root password

i know it is pretty simple to do manually, but it would be nice to have an app that would change the root password.

PC or MAC? If MAC use iNdependence 1.1.2 and go to the sections to ssh your iPhone and select change password. On a PC not sure.

i think he means a native app. it would definately be nice, although I would only use it once, then delete it.

All you need is MobileTerminal and i think the BSD subsystem installed on your iphone, both available via installer.

then type passwd root or passwd mobile to change the passwords for each account type.

I am having the same problem with the 1.1.4 firmware. Has anyone heard / read of why this is?

Yes, you cannot change the password with 1.1.4 because it causes BSD Subsystem to crash

Is there any fix to get around this? Does the cydia/fakebsd combo also have this problem?

As much as I love default passwords on important systems, I wouldn't mind a fix for this.
