iPhone stuck at boot screen

When I attempted to install the last SBSettings update Cydia froze at the end at the spinning ring and I had to turn it off by holding the power and home buttons. After that, my phone can't turn on, it just gets stuck at the apple logo. I tried fully uncharging the battery but still no luck. Any ideas on what I could do besides a full restore? I read somewhere that I could SSH in and remove a "watchdog timer" but I don't think my phone is on my wifi network so could I ssh if it was connected to my computer by USB?
