SwirlyMMS keeps failing at sending MMS messages.
Ok, its been a long and painfull experience with swirly, I have a jailbroken 1.1.3 16gb I just bought Saturday and I got it to work to both send and receive MMS, but come Sunday it wont work anymore, so Monday I call AT&T and have them add MMS to my unlimited texting plan. After that it worked fine and I sent and received 2 MMS. Now today it giving me a new error that says the following:
Failed to send MMS
Possible incorrect mmsc setting.
Unexpected http response
(HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden)
I have version 0.3.5, and the settings are
MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com/
Proxy: 066.209.011.032
Image size: Meduim
What do I do guys?

It looks like AT&T may have changed something on their end... anyone speak with AT&T to get more information? My plans are set up correctly; they have made no changes to the plans; but on Tues or Wed, I started having this problem.
The error message is one where the connection is made properly, but refused for some reason. One CSR did tell me that despite the Messaging bundle, my number is flagged as an iPhone ---
I'd really like to solve this.
One could try to have AT&T change the number from reflecting an iPhone and if it then works, it would be an AT&T's issue ... though one may want to change it back, since that will eliminate visual voicemail, but it could confirm if AT&T is deliberately blocking MMS messages to iPhonesLast edited by rkisling; 03-14-2008 at 01:53 PM.

Has anyone called or found anything out? I can't stand viewmymessage and my friends are wary of email for some reason. Im not sure if it's AT&T because my friends 1.1.3 who uses the same version swirlymms as me and has the same unlimited texting plan is doing just fine, and he never had to call AT&T to get them to add MMS to his texting plan.

Just to make sure everyone understands:
In order to have MMS capability you have to put your iPhone on a family plan
You add the iPhone data pack to your iPhone
and you add a family messaging plan to your account.
Settings:
MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com
Proxy: 066.209.011.032
Then you should be able to mms
Just calling them and adding MMS doesn't work, it will work for a day and then their system removes it every night.
So check your settings and what kind of plan do you have?

Yeah, unfortunately that's the only option. Unless you set up your iPhone as a normal phone with a media max bundle. But then you won't have visual voicemail.

How do you set it up as a normal phone?
Well do I still have MMS on my texting plan like how I did after I called the lady at AT&T?Last edited by xypex982; 03-15-2008 at 09:57 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I think if you call them to set up a phone instead of your iPhone they may ask you the IMEI. I'm not completely sure.
If i were you i wouild call them and tell them i broke my iPhone so I'm gonna use my old phone and that i don't want the iPhone plan anymore. They shouldn't bother you about it too much.
But no you don't have MMS on your texting plan anymore, the AT&T system removes MMS from any iPhone plan every night.

Well unless a normal phone plan with unlimited data.
In that case you would just lose visual voicemail.
But you would be able to MMS

Yep, AT&T's mms server is actively now refusing all Iphone connections. I spoke with a friend at AT&T and they are blocking all requests over edge from the iphone ip pool. He says its a contractual requirement with apple, he doesnt know the specifics but apprently AT&T and Apple have an agreement about MMS capability on the iPhone.
Swirly, what you need to do is route this through an external proxy. If someone can figure it out I'm willing to setup a proxy at home or work to test it.
