Local Carrier and iPhone

This might sound like a silly question but is it theoretically sound to say that any official carrier sim card will work on a locked iPhone? i live in the Philippines and the official carrier is Globe. Will a Globe simcard work in any iPhone even though its locked to, lets say, at&t? If not, is there a way to use my Globe sim card without unlocking or using a sim adapter? i was thinking of upgrading to a Globe specific firmware to do this but am not sure if such a thing exists or if it is even possible. Any advice would be appreciated

Locked iphone can only work with the same sim card from where the locked iphone carrier.

For that you jailbreak your locked iphone, to unlocked it with activated by the Yellowsn0w, then you can use any carrier sim.
