    newbie here!!
    is there any app that would hide in coming txt without jail breakin a phone?

    Not that I know of. You need to jailbreak and you can use Pysl(?), iBlacklist among others to hide texts.

    yup, you NEED to jailbreak your phone to have call/sms filtering
