well the first thing you might want to do is restart your phone, then download another app from the appstore. if the same problem occurs, you might want to look at the recent apps you downloaded from cydia. What are they? can you still download apps from Cydia?

try downloading apps to itunes then sync them to the phone... does that work?

Hey buddy, I had the same problem! If you have JAILBROKEN your phone, and you installed some apps, you should be seeing a grey app that has, well, no features!!! You need to respring your springboard (at least, I believe that is what you are doing! The EXPERTS have a way of abbreviating EVERYTHING, and they just expect that everybody knows what SB means, well, I'm with you, NOT EVERYBODY UNDERSTANDS! THERE SHOULD BE AN APPLICATION (APP) THAT HAS ONLY ONE PURPOSE... TO PROVIDE A DICTIONARY FOR ALL THESE WEIRD ABBREVIATIONS...man, I didn't even know what SSH AND SSL were and they talk about how to use it like how to put ketchup on fries!!! There are DUMMIES OUT THERE!)

Anyways, if you don't know how, tap safari, that is an app that is on the main screen of your phobe, unless you moved it, type respring springboard for iphone in google, skim the choices, one of these post will tell you how to get that app installed! Once you get that, whenever you install some new stuff, makesure you respring (set language) and you will see a spinning icon (had my 32GB iPod touch for almost 3 weeks before I figured out that was the SPINNING WHEEL) and when you return to the main screen, find the page that your faceless app was, and you should now have an app with the proper name!

Now hook up your phone to the computer, and it SHOULD SYNC AUTOMATICALLY, verifying your iPhone, and on iTunes you should see the name of your opine at the top if the screen somewhere! NOW TAP THE APPLICATIONS TAB, ( I've only done this when I wanted to add apps downloaded from itunes to the computer to place on iPod), select anything you want to ADD OR REMOVE USING CHECKMARKS! and then just press SYNC! Then you should see where your iPhone name was change to SYNCING....BACKING UP.....(sorry can't quite remember what it says completely) and after it BACKUPS IT SHOULD ADD AND REMOVE YOUR SELECTIONS, and when it is DONE, you should go UP THE SCREEN ON THE LEFT SIDE UNTIL YOU SEE APPLICATIONS, and tap it... That should bring up all the apps that are on your computer and the ones that were added to the computer when it was BACKUPED! To make it easy, if you ate like me and have over 400 apps, type in the box on the upper left search: the name of your app, and it should appear on the computer screen!

THERE YOU GO!

Oh, in case you didn't know! If you want room on your phone, delete the apps you don't need at that moment! You can always select "download again" on the phone's app store if it is free!
PLUS
You can still put free/paid apps back on it when you select it on the computer next time!
JUST REMEMBER!
DO NOT DELETE FROM COMPUTER, ESPECIALLY PURCHASED APPS FROM THE COMPUTER UNLESS YOU NEVER WANT IT AGAIN, CUZ IF YOU DELETE IT AND WANT IT BACK, you are gonna have to PURCHASE IT AGAIN!!!!!

What is applekillswitch doing for me???

Hey to anyone who knows a lot about ipod touchs,
guys, I disabled APPLEKILLSWITCH in SETTINGS, and now when I use MXTUBE, an app I got from either CYDIA OR INSTALLED (no idea which, still figuring out just what all the stuff I read online and downloaded to iPod are for) it NO LONGER CRASHES WHEN THERE ARE 2 DOWNLOADS IN PROGRESS AND 1 WAITING IN LINE! I USED TO GET 4 DOWNLOADED AND THEN I WOULD HEAR A CHIME, A SPINNING WHEEL SHOWS UP, THEN AFTER WHAT APPEARS TO BE A REBOOT NOT RESPRING, I WOULD HAVE TO REDO MY SEARCH, RESELECT MY DOWNLOADS TO CONTINUE, THE RESUME WHERE LEFT SUSPENDED WASN'T AVAILABLE! Last night I downloaded (50) 10-minute video clips and only had a ??? Error of some kind when I tried to have approx. 16 in line waiting to be downloaded! No other instances of problems like before!

I also noticed that when I turn on my iPod touch now, the process doesn't take as long (I have a penguin startup icon) it used to clock at 4 minutes and 17 seconds to reboot/power on to get to the password screen!
Is this related to applekillswitch?

Also, when I add new apps and then use categories to sort them into folders to get around the max limit of 9 pages of apps, , I get less " low memory problem" ... doesn't freeze up as often just because I dropped to 7 MB OF ? (Whatever it is) ! It does freeze briefly when it drops too low prior to blacking out screen for respring, but not as long or unresponsive!

Oh I HAVE A 32GB IPOD TOUCH JAILBROKEN AND WITH LATEST UPDATE! DOES THE AMOUNT OF DATA AFFECT REBOOT/ START UP TIME???
