Skype is out! crashes on startup?

Has anyone else has this problem, everytime i tap to sign in it just closes, Ive restarted springboard and restarted the ipod itself but It keeps closing... is it because it knows we are on a jailbroken firmware?

edit: Im gonna wait til 12:01 in my local time and see if it unlocks it or something... if not then ill report back. if so ill also report back..

edit: still doesn't work even after reinstalling the app. ;__;

Just downloaded and created an account on Skype and so far it seems to be running fine. I wouldn't think that the program knows you are jb however I am running fw3.0 if that makes any difference?

Okay I have made a call to the test call and as soon as the receiver has answered the call then the app crashes and reboots back to springboard.

well also i should point out that i already have an account, did it ask you to log in after you created your account? or did it automatically log you in after registering. also iPhone firmware 3.0 could be a big difference because they created it with the iPhone 3.0 sdk (I'm guessing) however I don't know, anyone with a firmware 2.2.1 have problems?

It is working fine for me on 2.2.1 Jailbroken iPhone 1st Gen...Once I went to Cydia and updated the mobile substrate, everything worked great and hasn't crashed since.

Most of the Skype crashes reported were only occuring on jailbroken iPhones. A conflict beween Mobile Substrate plug-ins and Skype was identified by Jay Freeman (saurik).

Jay Freeman is working with Skype to fix the compatibility problem, until then there is a new update for Mobile Substrate in Cydia that fixes the problem. It temporary disables Mobile Substrate plug-ins when Skype is running. I installed it and it fixed my Skype crashes.

Thanks Jay, that was a very quick analysis of the problem and a quick solution.
