Calendar help

Is there a way to make the calendar automatically get rid of appointments that are, say, 30 days old?

In iTunes when you sync calendar, there is a check box that will not sync items over 30 days old. Ive never used this as i sometimes need to go back amd look when an appointment was, but I assume it would delete those old appointments.

Ah thanks. Also how can I make it so that the calendar on the iPhone always overwrites my iCal? Sometimes when I sync it, it puts back stuff I've deleted on the phone.
