Lock Calendar 1.0b Beta Test
I finally found some time to work on Lock Calendar, and I'd like your help getting the next version ready for release. I'm slowly chipping away at some of the user requests, as well as trying to make it even better than it already is.
Here's a listing of the changes for 1.0b:
- Added multiple calendar support
- Added several new configuration options
- Max Time Interval now starts from the beginning of the interval instead of the current time
- Added support for the "Time Zone Support" Mobile Calendar option
- Optimized Calendar Database access
If you're interested in participating in this beta test, the package is located at:
<a href="http://www.volatile-dev.com/LockCalendar/lockcalendar_1.0b.deb">http://www.volatile-dev.com/LockCalendar/lockcalendar_1.0b.deb</a>
To install it, you'll need to copy it to your device, SSH in, and run the following commands:
Additionally, I desperately need help with translating the settings portion of Lock Calendar. Please contact me if you're interested in providing a translation.Code:dpkg -i lockcalendar_1.0b.deb killall SpringBoard
Here's some pictures for your viewing pleasure:

Nice update. Testing away

Love the ability to select colors.
In the color selection page(s), how about printing the text in it's corresponding color:
ie: Dark Grey in gark grey, Blue in blue, etc. Oops, I just realized white on white won't show. Maybe the field with a color bar indicating the color after the black on white text.Last edited by Mes; 03-05-2009 at 09:21 AM.

I want to test but I don't understand the command that needs to be run - anyone enlighten me? I already have lock calendar installed (0.3) - can I just overwrite the info in the lock calendar folder with the beta release and respring?

On a Windows computer, download http://www.volatile-dev.com/LockCale...endar_1.0b.deb to your computer. Open your SSH client (like WinSCP), Copy the downloaded file to your phone (any place, just remember where it is). Navigate to the folder on the iPhone where you downloaded the file. Then Commands/Open Terminal, enter command "dpkg -i lockcalendar_1.0b.deb". This will install lockcalendar. Then enter command "killall SpringBoard" ..... OR .... log-off WinSCP and reboot or respring. Both will accomplish the same thing.
Done
It's now OK to delete lockcalendar_1.0b.deb. deb file no longer needed.

Check out iTunnel. It'll let you SSH via USB.
iPhone Tunnel Suite 2.6 is out !! [Archive] - Mac Forums
Make sure you have OpenSSH installed on your device.

you can transfer the deb file to your iphone using what ever program you want.
then use MobileTerminal on the iphone to run the command line.
use "cd" w/o the "" to change directory to where you dropped the file. then run the command line.

This is really looking good. Love the granularity of the fg/bg color and font controls and the ability to choose which calendars are displayed.
A couple of minor suggestions...
Is it possible to adjust the leading between lines of text? To my eye, there's not enough space between events (or between a date bar and an event) and too much space between title and location within an event. This could be adjusted in code and not exposed to the user as a setting.
A setting for "Display locations" (on/off) would be nice to have as well.
Other than that, I think my wish list is covered! Great work.

I am testing it and it seems that the one week and two weeks options are different from the previous version. Now, they display calendar item for periods from monday to sunday, rather than the next seven days or 14 days. So, for instance, with the one week option, I get only th items for tomorrow (Friday; I got nothing on Saturday and Sunday). It didn't use to be that way. Previously, with one week I would get the items for the next seven days. Is this a bug or intentional? I definitely preferred it the way it used to be. Thanks
EDIT: BTW, it's not really a big deal, if I set it up at two weeks, and with usual number of ten items, it's basically identical to the way it used to beLast edited by marcoiac; 03-06-2009 at 12:59 AM.
