Here's a listing of the changes for 1.0b:
  • Added multiple calendar support
  • Added several new configuration options
  • Max Time Interval now starts from the beginning of the interval instead of the current time
  • Added support for the "Time Zone Support" Mobile Calendar option
  • Optimized Calendar Database access

If you're interested in participating in this beta test, the package is located at:

http://www.volatile-dev.com/LockCalendar/lockcalendar_1.0b.deb

To install it, you'll need to copy it to your device, SSH in, and run the following commands:

Code:
dpkg -i lockcalendar_1.0b.deb
killall SpringBoard
hey thomas,
would you show me how to install this. do i need to install mobileterminal to do this?
i will be happy to test this out if someone can tell me how to install this.

thanks,

That post was from March. He has already released that version as a stable release. Check Cydia and install it like any other app. The beta is over.

Hi, Can't find a thread for the official 1.0 release, so I'm posting here.

I'm not sure if this is the way Lock Calendar is supposed to work, but this seems like a bug. The interval setting does not appear to work correctly. I currently have it set for "One Week", which implies 7 days. By the time Friday rolls around, Lock Calendar doesn't show any more entries, as I have nothing else scheduled for this week. However, I DO have appointments on Mon, Tues, etc... on the next week. Given that those days are only 3 days away from Friday, those entries should show up.

Basically, that setting should act as "5 days from today", "7 days from today", etc... and right now they seem to be acting as "This week", instead of "One week (implies 7 days).

Some people might want one behavior, and others might want the other. Options labeled differently, such as "One Week" and then "This Week" might help with those different needs.

That's just how it works, orev - it does seem counter-intuitive, as you pointed out, but it's not a big deal, just set the interval to be much longer.

In other words... you've found a way to workaround something that doesn't work the way you expect it to. That confirms this is a bug.

If it's not designed to work that way, then it's a code bug. If it is designed to work that way, then it's a design bug.

Well, I have donated to the author of LockCalendar and I had hoped that this particular issue would get fixed, but I don't think it will. So I've moved on and now am using LockInfo, which is a bit more involved in setting up, but once you know your way, you can customize it exactly as you want.

Armadillo, doesn't LockInfo require Winterboard to run?
Can you tell if you notice any slowdown or other glitches after installing Winterboard?

I have no complaints about WinterBoard on 3.0 (other than it doesn't support keyboards). Everything is smooth and fast for me. LockInfo isn't perfect, but I simply cannot get used to week-relative timing of Lock Calendar. I really need to see next weeks appointments on the weekend but not the entire week. Sorry to say, but the first versions handled this so much better. I don't know what prompted the change, but it's just not working for me and many others. I hope volatiledev changes his mind. I am now off sending a donation to the LockInfo guy, he's deserved it. It's really slick and maybe he can move some of the settings into the preferences section, so we change some settings on the fly without changing the config.js file.

Lock Calendar Causes Crash

I'm getting a problem with Lock Calendar.

I'm not 100% sure as to the exact circumstances to why it happens, but Lock Calendar puts my iPhone into safe mode.

Every so often (seems like once every few hours), when I unlock my screen, my iPhone will unlock to a black screen with only Lock Calendar displayed for a few seconds, then it'll show the little spinning circle, indicating that my iPhone's mobile substrate kicked into safe mode. This never happens when I uninstall Lock Calendar.

Is this happening to anyone else? I'm running an iPhone 3G, 3.0.1 FW, with Lock Calendar 1.0-2.

No problems here. Could it be a recent install? Maybe you enabled a different Winterboard theme?

As a last result. Uninstall Lockcalendar, reboot, reinstall, reboot ... and try again. Make sure any 'Essential Cydia' updates are also installed .

Just a tip for those running firmware v2.2. If you try to (re)install Lock Calendar 1.0-2 via Cydia it won't install and you get a msg saying you need a higher version of Mobile Substrate but Cydia doesn't offer one then all is not lost. You can install Lock Calendar if you first install Lock Preferences via Cydia and then go to http://apt.bigboss.us.com/onepackage...ckcalendar&db= download and and install using SSH and dpkg -i (as per the instruction on-screen).

Lock Calendar installs fine but, for a reason not apparent to me, every time you add or delete something using Cydia Lock Calendar gets removed. Not huge deal as it's trivial to reinstall and the app is rather good.

First off, thanks heaps for a free but useful alternative to all the other lock screen applications. Works perfectly. I registered on this site thanks to this app :P

A feature request you have already had once on here but I don't think you noted/replied to though:

Is it possible to have the app pull down the colours of the calendars it is reading and either colour the event, or preferably, add a small dot/rectangle of that colour?

For reference, I use a widget in Win 7 to pull my google calendar down to my desktop. It looks like the image here, and shows what I think would work well in your app. In this, green in my work calendar, blue is personal. I have 2 others as well. (Note: This is called Google Calendar Agenda if you want this widget)

Click the image to open in full size.

Thanks again. I'll be donating once I have some more credit in my paypal account.
