Be sure its on user/library/xGPSdirections.db and xGPSmap.db.
If your phone is 2G,you need to have a gps module.(no need for 3G)...

    thanks for replying

my phone 3g, the only file that the xgps manager produced is the xGPSmap.db file. Should that be the case?

I've copied the xGPSmap.db file to the location you stated but still no luck

yep i have installed xGPS Util too, but it does not seem to do much

I've turned offline mode on but still no maps are showing up!
In "manage maps" it says 550mb, so the maps are there...

Once the maps are download and used in offline mode, is there any reason why I can't search street names? is this not possible in offline mode?

If you use xGPS manager on Mac, why don't you use wireless transfer feature built-in of xGPS. In IPhone, enable "wireless transfer", xGPS manager will recognize the ip of iphone, then choose connect and transfer in xGPS. Doing that way you don't have to worry about permission issue. It transfers really fast actually.

Next thing you may check is your map zoom. When you download map, If you choose zoom 0, 17, you will only have map of zoom level 0 and 17. If you choose 1,2, you'll only have map of zoom 1 and 2. Others zoom level will show blank titles. Tap + or - sign on iphone to adjust the zoom.

you need to include the town name when searching, it won't automatically assume you search for a street in the current town you're in like gmaps

In my version of xGPS 1.2, if I select maps 0,17 to download, I get all the zoom levels. The developers have stated that to be the case as well.

I get the info from xGPS users forums, their information completely contradict with yours. Below is the quote from the forum:

BrianCOUSA wrote:when I use the new manager and it gives the default options of (0,17) does that mean it is downloading 0-17 or only 0 and 17? I want to know if say I wanted levels from 0-5 do I need to list each number 0,1,2,3,4,5...is that clear??

Answer by Thomas - xGPS Moderator:
It is downloading just 0 and 17. It says right below the "Zoom Levels to Download" box that in order to download different levels you are to separate them by commas.

So mine looks like: 2,3,4,5,6 for maps and 1,2,3,4,5 for Terrain. (But those are just what I like)
Is Thomas really wrong when saying it only download 0 and 17 ??

yeah it only downloads the exact map sizes you specify. If you say 0,17 you only get 0 and 17.

I usually do 1,2,3,4. Those are the sizes i need most.
