On the homescreen ay the bottom, it says "sports" and has the spinning wheel with a line next to it as though it were loading something. I've redownloaded, removed and redownload, rebooted and tried everything I can. I'm sure it's killing my battery. Any help?

intelliscreen is dodgy, buggy and doesnt like to work along side most other apps.
try removing it.

Intelliscreen is one of my favourite JB apps alongside SwirleyMMS, and I can't say I have had a problem on any 2.0+ firmware (currently on 2.2) but most likely I have been lucky. If the sports RSS feed is constantly trying to load but not completing then most likely it can't access it so just remove the sports feed entirely - Intelliscreen - View Layout - Press third icon from the right until nothing is showing then save.
