iRealSMS doesn't play nice

with app compatibility turned off, intelliscreen pop up alerts don't work, neither do the reminders. Also, status notifier doesn't work either.

with app compatibility on, i still don't get the reminders or pop ups with intelliscreen. And for some reason i get two sound text alerts for each text message.

Anyone else experience this? if not, how do you have your SMS apps set up?

The quick reply is awesome, but if MySMS adds this I'm not going to use irealsms anymore. i get none of these problems when i have MySMS set as the default app.

currently on 16gig 2g 2.2FW (quickpwn)

I have both as well and I agree; if Mysms gets quick reply, I'm removing ireal. However, the quickreply feature doesn't work on my 3g anyway. Intelliscreen and mysms work work together well, but ireal doesn't on mine as well too.

irealsms is not supported with intelliscreen yet. mysms and bite both are but thats it. the reason being that the quick reply feature runs on mobile substrate so no matter what you are running that pop up will come up with the message on it. once that message pops up it becomes a "read" message and therefore intelliscreen will no longer identify it as a new message. if you turn intelliscreen to show the 10 recent messages, you will see it works just fine. you all are asking for the quick reply feature to be put on mysms yet this is the exact thing that causes the compatibility issue.

i didn't know that...thanks for the heads up...so i guess that's the same reason status notifer doesn't show anything, because it assumes the message is already read..

also, if i set intelliscreen to show ten recent...will the reminders work again?

which reminders are you talking about? the 10 recent will apply for the last 10 messages either sent or recieved. all other reminders work. what i did was simply set sms to show 10 recent and then i can see what people have text me (to see if its worth replying right away) then all you have to do if you have ireal installed is simply unlock your phone and the messages are right there, ready to reply. i think thats even better than that launch sms in the quick view of intelliscreen. if you have any other question about the compatibility or anything with that just ask. ive been playing with the two for about a week now and think i have it down pretty well

Cricketlang, do you have any clue as to why the quickreply feature doesn't work on my 3g? I've installed/uninstalled yet can't get the feature to work...

I also tried ireal as the standalone sms app, yet quickreply still won't work.

heres what i found out....once you install it and then uninstall it...it wont work no matter what you do. i had to do a full restore to get this back up and running. i personally dont care about doing restores. i do them quite often. if there is another way go fix this then so be it but i dont know of any yet. but starting from the beginning worked PERFECTLY.

i was talking about the intelliscreen reminders...i miss a lot of texts a work and the reminders help a lot, i specially like that they make a noise, vibrate, and flash. And since intelliscreen gives me the option to swipe alert icon and turn off the reminders i don't have to worry about the battery either.

Also, Intelliscreen and statusbar notifier are both daemons....which dont like to play nice with other apps because they like to "hog" all the resources. Also hence the reason an app has to be coded to work properly with them.

^^^^ daemons also are harsh on battery. i get 2 hours more battery when not using intelliscreen but when im at work it comes in handy so i can see texts without having to unlock my phone. other than that i turn intelliscreen off. even though statusbar notifier is a daemon i love it and continue to use it. but yeah. daemons dont play well with ANYTHING. hahahahaha.

I thought I was going to have to do that too... but I uninstalled, rebooted. deleted the com.spiritoflogic.irealsms2.plist found in the mobile/library/prefrences.. launched cydia, reinstalled mobile substrate.. rebooted once more. Then finally reinstalled irealsms... worked fine after that.
