I cannot seem to be able to compile any console applications for the ipod touch.
I was trying to install htop, because plain old top sucks and doesn't scroll task lists, and I got hold of the sources but don't know where to go from there. I untarred it and hit configure and this is what i got:
"checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... /bin/mkdir -p
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... a.out
checking whether the C compiler works... configure: error: cannot run C compiled programs.
If you meant to cross compile, use `--host'.
See `config.log' for more details."
Can htop be built for a Darwin-based system or is it only for Linux? And with that in mind, what if any Linux/Unix console applications can be built to work with the terminal application for iphone OS?
