Question "I Haz Failed" error when creating the custom IPSW on Pwnage Tool 2.2?

    What's cooking guys?

I have successfully jailbroken my 3G iphone in the past pretty much from 2.0 all the way to 2.1 (my current version); however, now as i try to install the iPhone's 2.2 firmware. I've tried using Pwange 2.2 and the apple 2.2 firmware but get an error message when Pwnage attepmts to build the custom firware. The error message says "I Haz Failed" and does not create the custom IPSW file. I've tried both Simple and advanced modes but I get the error message using both options.

Has anyone seen this error before? or know what may be the work around?

    Thanks in advance!

    Default Same Problem

I got the same problem, slightly differently. I "pwned" my iPhone 3G with the 2.2 firmware the first time and everything worked well except that it didn't install Cydia or Installer for me, so it might as well not have been pwned. I tried to re-do the pwn but the pwnage tool now would not even create the custom ipsw. What is going on?

Use expert mode and make the size of the root partition about 750MB and then try building the firmware. Also if iTunes is running when you're building the firmware do not close it.
