Thread: Flashlight app bug in 2.2

Default Flashlight app bug in 2.2
Just found that the Flashlight app in Cydia causes your screen brightness to go to zero after closing the app. The flashlight works fine but when you close it you can barely make out anything on your springboard. I was able to see enough to bring up SBsettings and increase the brightness. Then, lock and unlock and your brightness is back. I've tried it a bunch of times now and it does the same thing.

Hmmm. Do you have SBsettings installed?

I have both installed and I am having the same problem.

i only have the flashlight installed, and it closes just as it should with no residual effects

I think it is the combination of Flashlight and SBsettings. It some how messes with the brightness toggle in SBsettings.

I had the same problem with flashlight and sbsettings. Is it possible to use flashlight with sbsettings and not have this issue?

I hope there will be a fix soon for this bug as I love both those apps.

I actually had to reset settings in order to fix my screen. Rebooting would not fix the problem.

I have SBsettings and Flashlight installed, this does not happen when closing flashlight. Maybe its because I did a fresh install of eveything after updating to 2.2 and jailbreaking?

Yeah, so did I and I had this problem.

Does it to me also. I have BossPref's installed, I don't have SBSettings installed. Doesn't always show up exiting flashlight, but shows after I turn the screen off and back on. Only way to correct it to reboot the phone, sometimes it requires more than one reboot.

Same thing happened for me....Thanks for the solution....multiple reboot solved it.

Just tried the flashlight now and it dimmed my screen (down to about 1/4 brightness) after closing. I do not have SBsettings installed, Going into the brightness control I found it to be set where I had it but had to move the slider to get it back.

I get the same dimming, a respring generally fixes it.
Hopefully we'll get an update to fix it.

I just fixed my flashlight backlight problem.
Just go to settings and reset all setings. this will bringt back the backlight.

So does anyone know if a fix is being worked on for this?

I think the latest flashlight update may have solved it.

Yeah, there was an update recently to Flashlight that solved the bug.
