I was able to change the default.png to get rid of the splash screen that it comes with, and I was able to change the bubbles. I havent messed with the background yet, but I think it wont be too hard.

I tried using the bg_large.png in winterboard, its a 480x480 image, it didnt work. I also tried changing the one in the actual apps folder, that didnt work either. None of the other image files in the folder look like the right one to change.... im at a loss.....

Nope, messed up my Status notify - I got a message, didn't read it and then I was stuck with sms baloon in status bar. I tried opening both apps to "read" the message but it didn't help. Had to reboot.

The numbers problem went away from me when I changed the number of digits settings option to 10 (from full) and resprung my phone. Try it...

When I received a SMS, I opened it up with mySMS, but the StatusNotifier balloon did not go away. Also, the built-in SMS app showed the badge and would not go away, even after opening the SMS again. I had to reboot to fix it. I hope they fix this, otherwise there is no real point in using mySMS at the moment.

[edit] After playing around with mySMS some more, I noticed that if you set mySMS as the default SMS client, only mySMS gets the badge and not the built-in SMS, which is better & the expected behaviour. But then StatusNotifier doesn't pick it up either. So maybe we need to ask zolee to incorporate mySMS in his app.

I updated to the new release this morning and all my contacts show up instead of the number. I got the key and the splash screen is still showing up. If you backgrounder it, it goes away. However, with that enabled there is an issue with it updating the notifier balloons that pop up over the mysms icon.

Ill say it again:
to remove the splash screen, replace the Default.png with your own image.
This can be done with WinterBoard by:
'your theme'\Folders\MySMS.app\
Default.png

any 320x480 png image will work.... even a 100% blank transparent image.

the new vesion fixed my contacs problem too, luckyly, since changing the number of digits didnt help.

i have one problem tho, that i dont know if its related to this or not:

Yesterday i installe and uninstalled MySMS and connect.c, and maybe discover or another appstore app (that i kept), and now my iphone has a ReportCras (ReportCrash is its full name) process and another iTunesStore one that cicle on and off (apear and disapar from the list that top displays) and use some/a lot of CPU. This prevents my iphone from going to sleep and it drains its battery.

any idea how to fix it ? rebooting didnt help.

pd: i have the app back and running now that the numbers match, but i still have the problem

i think this one owns bitesms...i used bite for a while with my carrier, and i never really liked their landscape mode or their overall UI. with mysms you can read the conversation in landscape mode too which bite lacked..

definitely i choose bitesms, guess why?
first it is almost exactly the stock sms app which i like
second 5$ for 50 sms whoaaaaaa for 50 sms in my country it is 15$ :@:@
so bitesms is awesome plus it sends the message as if u are sending it, by that i mean it shows on my friends phone my number as the sender its like just sending a real sms but for cheap

It is a 32x32 tileable image called bg_contact.png
it needs to be in a folder named whatever you want, and place that folder here:
/private/var/mobile/Library/MySMS/Skins

You will also need the plst file that goes with it.
I will attach the sample skin so you can see how it works.

Tried to purchase it but apparently i cant use a "free" email account, so i cant use gmail, yahoo, hotmail. That makes no sense. Anyone know of a work around?

Did your ISP give you an email? Thats how I got it registered.

cool you found it...but i guess that means that big backgrounds like the ones used for the standard sms app are out of the question

hey i think im having a similar problem although i only installed MySMS...idk how to check what processes are running, im looking for some type of utility in cydia right now, what are you using to see what processes are running? there has to be something running in the background of mine too bc i have to reboot every once in a while to stop my battery draining :/
