I started using BiteSMS and love it (landscape texting rules)!
My only problem is that it doesn't show how many new texts i have from the home screen like the stock sms application does. Is there anyway to add a notifier badge to bitesms?

Have you set it as the default SMS app?

Swipe the arrow next to the message sent indicator when in the text entry mode, this takes you to settings, switch default SMS app to on and this should work, it works fine on mine.

Hmm, I'm not getting an alert badge, despite having it as my defualt Text.

i was having this problem too. the sms app that came with the phone was also showing a -1, i would go into the app and it would show the same message as unread. i was able to solve both

i turned off the default sms in bite, then rebooted. then i uninstalled bitesms, then resprung/rebooted. went into orig sms app and deleted the conversation that kept showing as unread, then rebooted. reinstalled bite and set it to default.

not sure if i had to reboot all those times but i did and now bite shows new message badge and the original sms no longer shows -1
