What's the best media player for videos?

What player handles a greater number of file types?

Is it stable, etc.?

vlc4iphone and mplayer are great, both with ups and downs, but vlc might be on team lead... Vlc you get from zodd (google it) and mplayer from cydia...also orb just came out so check that out too

Tried mplayer. Crashed immediately.

I've never heard of vlc4iphone but it looks promising if they can get it to play divx. However, the Installer repo doesn't have it listed and neither does Cydia, soooo.....

I do have zodttd listed in the sources for both apps.

As for the orb thing, I could not find that as well.

I use the player inside cycorder, it uses the native videoplayer so it only supports the official formats but it bypasses itunes and synching and performs better than all the other alternatives... until the others shape up to some sort of usable state...
