and fring and skype users out there?

just today i installed fring on my 3g and signed up for skype.

i am unable to make calls though. when i go into fring, i go to contacts, then, obviously all my contacts are there and i select someone and go to call them. i select skype out and try to make the call. but as soon as it tries to make the call it fails... why is this? i rebooted my phone and everything. installed skype on laptop, and still the same issues.

also i would like to use my HS500 moto bluetooth ear-piece with skype on my laptop, any help there is appreciated.

That sounds like a problem with your Skype out. Do you have any minutes loaded? Skype out costs, where skype to skype is free.
Also, skype will use what ever devices your pc can see. So first make sure that your pc can see & recognize your bt headset.

well i have a bluetooth dongle that my earpiece sees and i can change properties of it. but when i dial out on my skype it rings on my laptop speakers.

i got the 2.99 plan a month. unlimited cell and lanline calls.

on my laptop i can make a call out, but on my iphone i cant. this is so weird and sucks. i got it for my phone, not laptop.

I think you need to change the settings in skype for your BT. I don't know where the settings are for PC, I'm on a mac.
When you use fring, do you have wifi? It only works with wifi, unless you install the mod from cydia to make it run on gprs & edge. I have only tried the skype to skype call with fring. The exchange rate is a bit sh!t at the moment to buy any skype out.

I actually contacted Skype support about this issue and they told me that you have to dial "001" before all calls, which is the US international calling code. If you're not calling the US, used the international calling code for that country.

Example - 001-xxx-xxx-xxxx

Also, make sure to wait about 30 seconds after loading Fring. This allows Skype time to load.

is there a way to have my name show up or my cell number when using skype? i just tested it and it says unknown caller. also, as i would do the same, most people wont answer an unknown caller.

anyone?

still trying to find a way to show my cell number when calling from fring using skype. maybe forwarding or something?

I don't think it could show your cell number on the network with skype. But I have read somewhere in skype you could have a fixed number to show with a certain fee. Go and check the Skype site.
