Use Veency and iTunnel.exe to VNC connect to your iphone with no wifi
download iTunnel.exe from
iTunnel.zip
once you have iTunnel.exe run it with the command arguments
iTunnel.exe 5900 5900
this can be done by CMD prompt. navigate to where your iTunnel.exe is stored and run it from CMD prmt by typing iTunnel.exe 5900 5900
once iTunnel loads a black window up, open Chicken of the VNC, or a compatible PC / Mac VNC client and connect to the address:
127.0.0.1:5900
your iphone should prompt you for a incomming VNC connection, and you will now have VNC - Veency running / tunneling from your PC to your phone with no WiFi connection required.
enjoy!
(why would you do this!! - think, iphone connected to USB cable, plugged in and stored in your DESK at work.) VNC on your PC and you can send and receive SMS messages, check your email, and etc...
enjoy!

Hi... I have tried this without any luck,
I ran with cmd,
itunnel 5900 5900
I then tried connecting via RealVNC 4, to the address of: 127.0.0.1:5900
The VNC viewer bounces back the error:
read: Connection reset by peer (10054)
Do you wish to attempt to reconnect to 127.0.0.1@5900?
While my cmd window displays:
new connection !
AMDeviceNotificationSubscribe = 0
iPhone attached !
AMDeviceConnect = 0
AMDeviceIsPaired = 1
AMDeviceValidatePairing = 0
AMDeviceStartSession = 0
MobileDevice: AMDeviceStartService: AMDeviceStartService: Could not connect to USB mux (error 10061)
AMDeviceStartService = -402653131
AFCConnectionOpen = 0
Any ideas please? You're the only person I've found so far that has wanted to do VNC'ing the right way around (imho!)
-M.

I was getting the same error until I realized that I was trying to connect to a VNC server (iPhone) that didn't have the server installed. I then installed the Veency program (Cydia) and I was able to connect successfully. You must have a VNC Server running on your device for the OPs instructions to work.

I'm still getting an error. I'm using TightVNC.
TightVNC response:
ReadExact: Socket error while reading.
Command Prompt:
new connection !
MobileDevice: AMDeviceNotificationSubscribe: USBMuxListenerCreate: No error
AMDeviceNotificationSubscribe: -402653131
Please help.
Thanks!

Thanks for the help, but I'm using my work computer which also very much locked down...can't get to network connections. I'm double locked that we don't have wifi at work. I can connect to veency using wifi at home and at work, but there aren't any open wifi connections at my workplace. I carry an external harddrive which will contain the software I need, if only it would work.
I also tried connecting via UltraVNC and here are the errors:
Connection failed - Error reading Protocol Version
Possible causes:
- You've forgotten to select a DSMPlugin and the Server uses a DSMPlugin
- Viewer and Server are not compatible (they use different RFB protocoles)
- Bad connection
Ok, I figured it out - I needed to install itunes. Since I have a locked down machine at work, I need to find a portable version of itunes.Last edited by Curare; 12-19-2008 at 04:36 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Man installing VNC has gotta be about the easiest friggin thing to do! Just download Veency from Cydia, then goto RealVNC - RealVNC remote control software and download VNC Viewer. It's free even! RealVNC - Download VNC software

Veency updated and connection over USB works!
Hi,
I had the same problem as some of you here. I'm sure you already noticed that Veency has been updated to work with the 3.0 firmware and works flawlessly over Wifi.
If you want to use veency over usb, download the iTunnel.zip in the original post and do the following:
1: extract the zip (duh!)
2: REPLACE iTunesMobileDevice.dll with the version from C
Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\
3: run iTunnel.exe 5900 5900 (in windows via CMD)
4: direct your whateverVNC desktop application to 127.0.0.1:5900
I hope that works for everybody!Last edited by schiphol; 07-13-2009 at 06:28 PM. Reason: wrong info

I have just upgraded to a iPhone 3GS and jailbroken using redsn0w. I cant seem to get veency via usb with itunnel to work properly.
On my 2G I had veency wifi and usb working flawlessly.
I have installed veency via cydia.
D/l new itunnel and replaced .dll file from itunes directory when I run
itunnel 5900 5900 nothing appear in the window like previously when I did it with my 2g and when I try to connect using VNC Viewer it says Cant connect to server address ( i think) I tried selecting the plug-in and still the same error.
I cant use SSH either when using itunnel 22 22 I get a bind error.
I have gone through this thread followed instructions and no resolution
Anyone having same issues ?
Thanks

Hidding the command window
Not sure if anybody is interested but I've create a windows service that that you can use to run other applications from. I use it to start iTunnel (and uTorrent) when windows boots up. It also hides the command prompt. PM me if you're interested in using this.
