If you can ssh into your phone, have a look here:
    /Library/dyModLoader/
There should be two VTones files there. (.dml & folder .Module). Delete them.
    Also here:
    /System/Library/PreferencesBundles/
There should be file called inVideoShowSetting.bundle. Delete that.

Then reboot. See if that helps you.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I think it had something to do with that shitty ifonetec repo and their dynamic module loader.
The MIVTones updated probably needed the DML but didn't install it right...
Anyway efff'em and their overpriced software. That crap screwed up half of my day.
I'm just avoiding their stuff from now on

If you install this from Cydia, openSSL should get installed automatically, as it is listed as a dependency.

yes it should and does... BUT its not workin properly with mivtones thats why i said go to installer and do it manually.... like i said i havent had any problems with mivtones locking up my phone or any other phones ive done that too since i did the install of openssl through installer
    ........ thats jus my experience............

Actually, your post gave me hope in getting my MivTones to run again. I've had no problems with v2.1.3, but then 2.1.5.1 came out and I just can't get it to install. I keep getting the same install error. I've contacted support, but it's been more than a week now and still no luck with the installation. They got me to uninstall v2.1.3 first, but since I can't get v2.1.5.1 to install, and v2.1.3 is not available anymore, I just don't have a working version anymore. I though if I re-installed openSSL from Cydia again, it might solve the problem.
This is what I get when I try & install the deb file:

    iPhone-3G:~ root# dpkg -i dyModLoader.deb
    Selecting previously deselected package com.ifonetec.dymodloader.
(Reading database ... 9173 files and directories currently installed.)
    Unpacking com.ifonetec.dymodloader (from dyModLoader.deb) ...
    dpkg: error processing dyModLoader.deb (--install):
trying to overwrite `/._.DS_Store', which is also in package com.modmyi.default
    Errors were encountered while processing:
    dyModLoader.deb

If anyone can shed any light, it would be appreciated. All other packages install fine from Cydia.

***NEVERMIND: I got fed up with it not working and not getting anywhere with the devs either, so I dissected the debs, looked at what the postinst file does, and installed it all manually. Now it's finally installed & working again. Still don't have a clue why that error was popping up though...
